Luis is a carpenter who lives in LaCeiba, Honduras. He spent seven years and his entire life savings building his house with his own hands. In one night a mud slide destroyed his home and the entire neighborhood. He hopes to rebuild his home as soon as possible. Currently Luis works in the fields as a laborer for the United Fruit Company. He also is a house painter in his spare time. He is married to Maria Bendek for 15 years and the couple have 3 children, Luce, Jorge, and Ana. Luis and his family are now living with his sister Theressa until they can rebuild their home. The cost to rebuild Luis' home is estimated at $75,000 USD. All donations on behalf of Luis will be made to the Honduras National Bank in LaCeiba under the name "Donations for Luis Zelya".
